Outdoor fun at Lido

After spending the last few months breathing the not-so-sweet air of Jakarta, we spent the weekend at Lido for some outdoor fun. We had a great time, with so much to do. We went in a horse and cart, jumped onto a raft, went walking by the lake, and riding in a golf buggy. Can't wait for our next holiday.

So I'm out of hospital and over my typhoid. Today I was feeling so good I went out for some exercise. Look at me in the photo doing some chin ups.

After that, I was feeling even better, and decided to go looking for some respectable ladies to chat with. Yep, as you can see, I'm back to being myself again.

I'm in hospital after a bit of a bump on the head and vommiting repeatedly. I even had an MRI scan, which was pretty scary at first but after a while was ok. Hopefully I can go home tomorrow.

Suramadu Bridge

Today we all climbed in our new bus and went to see the great bridge of Suramadu. It's the longest bridge in Southeast Asia, and was officially opened by my Agung Herman. The whole household came along, and even my little sister Hope came too!

Out for a swim

Today I went out for a quick swim. I still can't go in the deep pool by myself, but I think I will be able to soon.

A big long bike ride

Today I went for a big long ride on my bike. I think I must have been riding for about 2 hours straight.

Trip to Juanda and a walk around the block

Today I had a field trip to Juanda airport to see how planes are repaired. We went to the Merpati maintenance facility, and had a guided tour.
Later I went for a walk around the block at Oma's house.
I took my steering wheel with me, so I could drive all the way round the block.
It's such a lovely neighbourhood. I met many cats along the way.

Tumble Tots

This morning I went to Tumble Tots. I joined in all the activites, and Mum & Dad said I did really well.
There were lots of things to play and do. I climbed on everything!
Later in the day I went for a walk with my friend the banana. Agung Wiwik gave it to me!

Today, at 2:55pm, my little sister was born. She is so tiny, but very pretty. She'll be in the hospital for a while, but I can't wait for her to come home, and then we can play together every day.

Today I went to the Surabaya Zoo, otherwise known as the Bon Bin.
At first I was a little scared of all the huge animals. They look so much smaller on TV or in a book!
But the friendly camel told me not to be scared, so then I started to enjoy myself.
And finally I went for a ride on the little boat, and go up close to the monkeys.

I met this serious chap, pictured above. He didn't seem interested in my new car (given to me by Oma).

Bajaj Ride

Today I went for my first ever ride on a bajaj.

We went all the way around the block at my house.

It was a bit noisy, but I loved it.

The Playground in Kemang

Today we went to "the Playground" in Kemang. What a great place it was! I got to drive my very own mini-size becak.

There were all sorts of water activities too. As any respectable 3-year-old would do, I ran about madly for several hours.

Easter in Hong Kong

For Easter this year, we decided to go to Hong Kong for a family holiday. There was so much to see. I loved running around the Chinese Gardens and temples.

Then I took time out from my busy schedule to make a speech with my two buddies, George and Bill.

It was also nice that I had a chance to see my Oom Reza and Tante Peni again.

Kuala Lumpur

We've just had a great long weekend in KL, Malaysia. First thing we did was head to the Petronas Twin Towers, just to confirm that they are both taller than me.

We also went to the Butterfly Park, and walked around the Lake Gardens - a lovely place.

After a trip out to Putra Jaya, we went to Dataran Merdeka for some afternoon sun.

A day at the park

Today I went to the park and rode my bike around. I even bumped in to a celebrity that was shooting a film at the park.

At my school today, we celebrated my birthday with all my friends. Mummy and Daddy came too.

We had a cake, and sang some songs. Once again, I got lots of presents. Thanks to all my wonderful friends at school.

Today was my 3rd birthday. Oma and Opa, and lots of family and friends came over for a little party.

We had a lovely cake decorated with little fish, and lots of food.

I even got a chance to play with my new kite with a nice sea breeze to help.

National Museum

Today I got up early to dig in the sand and play on the swing.

After that, we went to the National Museum, otherwise known as Museum Gajah because it has an elephant in front.

There were lots of good things to see in the museum.

I nearly got blown away by an old cannon.

After all the fun at the museum, I wanted to get some fresh air, so we went to Taman Menteng to ride my bike and play in the park.

Independence day in Bali

For the 17 August long weekend, we celebrated Indonesia's Independence by going to Bali.

We stayed at the Novotel Nusa Dua.

Oma and Opa bought me some new floats, which I found really good for swimming in the hotel's big pool.

On the afternoon of 17 August, we went to Pura Tegal Wangi to watch the sunset.

The temple looks out over the sea.

Afterwards we had a lovely Italian dinner.

Puncak Holiday

Last week I went with Mummy and Daddy to Puncak for the whole week. There are so many photos I couldn't put them all here. For more photos, look at my web album.
First we went to Kebun Raya Cibodas. I saw big trees and a waterfall.
Next Daddy gave some money to the guards, and we went in to the President's Palace at Cipanas.

We also saw Taman Bunga, with lots of flowers and things to see.

Finally, we went to Taman Safari Zoo, where I got to hold a cheetah, tigar, orangutan and even a snake!

Mid-week outing

Today was a public holiday, so we got up early and had a quick swim in the morning sun, and then set off for a trip around northern Jakarta. First stop was Sunda Kelapa, where the world's only remaining commercial sailing fleet docks to load and unload goods from across the region. I saw some really big boats there!
Next we went to see the old Dutch fort, which used to protect the port and city in old times.

I played on the cannons, and saw a really big anchor.

Next we went shopping at Pasar Baroe. While the name means "new market" it's actually a very old market used since Dutch times. We bought some shoes, and I saw a wonderful toy bird.

Finally, at sunset, we went to Taman Menteng. I brought my bike, and rode around for ages.

I wonder what we'll get up to next weekend!

A Lazy Sunday

Today we had a lovely lazy Sunday. We had ice cream in a "boat" in Pacific Place.

Then we went swimming and I learnt to fly up high in the sky on Daddy's hands.

I can now swim around by kicking my legs.

Then I decided to lie back and take it easy for a while.

I love lazy Sundays.

Today we celebrated Agung Yanie's birthday. We all went to Kemanggisan and had a lovely meal. I was in disguise as Superman, so no-one knew it was Alex who was there to protect them!

Puppet Museum

This morning Mummy and Daddy took me to the Puppet Museum in Jakarta historic Kota district. We saw lots of puppets, some smaller than me and some twice the size of Daddy. Some puppets were flat and called Wayang Kulit, and others were round and called Wayang Golek. There were also puppets from all round the world.
After seeing the puppets, we also had some food at Cafe Batavia, and then went to Museum Fatahilla, which is Indonesia's museum of history. There were lots of old items from past ages. I especially liked the dungeon for prisoners under the building.

Super Hero

Dengue Fever and Senggigi Beach

Last week I had dengue fever. My temperature went up to 40.5 degrees, and my Mummy was so worried for me. However, I felt fine, and continued running around like normal!

So when my temperature came back to normal, we decided to take a short weekend holiday at Senggigi in Lombok.
We all played on the beach, and had a great time.

Uluwatu

Last weekend, we all went to Bali for the wedding of my Aunty Arlene. The wedding was held at Uluwatu, on top of a cliff overlooking the Indian Ocean.

We stayed at Nusa Dua, and had a great time playing in the playhouse.

I also had a great time playing with my third cousin, Kakak Sasha. Hello Kakak Sasha!

Dinosaurs Alive

Today I visited the Dinosaurs Alive show at Senayan. I went with all my school friends. This photo is us lining up to go inside.
Once inside, I got a little scared by all the big and angry dinosaurs, but at least I had fun playing on the drums.

Yesterday afternoon I had a good time playing sport.
I went out on my bike, and took my basketball with me. Then when I arrived at the basketball court, I played for a while.

I'm getting better at riding my bike thesedays. I can go really fast, even up hill.

Swimming - really this time

Today I went for a swim in the big pool. This time, I tried some arm floats, and managed to go across the deep pool a few times unassisted.

It was so much more fun than being held, or just standing in the shallow pool. I want to try this again next time.

It was a lovely ceremony. Perhaps one day I'll be a professor too.

School Performance

Today I made my stage debut, starring in our annual school performance. I performed several songs for the pleasure of the packed audience.

One of the crowd-favourites was "the wheels on the bus".

Then for the grand finale, we performed a medley of crowd-pleasers.

Four days in Bali

I've just come back from four lovely days in Bali. This time we stayed in the Melia Bali, in Nusa Dua. On Sunday, we went to Dreamland Beach to swim and watch the sunset. Mummy took this lovely photo of Daddy and me.
After coming back to the hotel, I turned in to Batman, and scared the Balinese dancers.

The next day, we went in to Kuta. Mummy and I took time out to play the Gamelan.

Then we went to famous Kuta beach to fly my new kite and swim in the evening sun.

It was a lovely time for us all.

For the Easter long weekend, we all went up to Mount Bromo and stayed at Oma Melly's house.
Tante Wiwid came too. Tante Icha and Om I Made got lost on the other side of the mountain, so we didn't see them at all!

It was fun to see the little wild flowers growing in the outer crater.

Back at the house, I had fun feeding the neightbour's cat.

What a great holiday it was.

Swimming Lessons

Today was my first day at school! I had to get up very early, so I was a bit grumpy to start with.
But then I brightened up as we were about to leave.

At school, I get to play with lots of toys, and read lots of books.

I've just returned from a lovely trip to Singapore.

We were there for Chinese New Year.

Oma and Opa came along too. Here's a photo of Oma taking a special drink. She said you can only have a drink like this in Singapore.

We also went to the Jurong Bird Park, Snow City, Singapore Discovery Center, and many other attractions. What a great holiday!

Yesterday, my Mum and Dad took me out to the basketball court. We had a good game. They both tried very hard, but in the end I came out victorious.

Sunday with Tante Wiwid

Finally Tante Wiwid invited us to celebrate her birthday. We were invited to Sushi Tei. Unfortunately at the last minute I got a bit sleepy, so didn't end up going out for lunch.
But afterwards we went to play at the new park in Menteng. Thanks for that, Tante Wiwid!

My family from Kemanggisan came to visit me today. Agung Ibnu and Agung Yanie were there, along with Tante Nadya and Tante Shanty. They played with me, and took me out for a walk. Please come again soon!

Today, my Mum and Dad got me a new soccer ball, which also doubles as a cozy arm chair. They say it's for my room at our new place.

Kemanggisan

On Sunday I went over to Kemanggisan. We celebrated several birthdays with a Bakmi GM dinner. What a good time we had.

A little bit about Oma and Opa

I thought I'd take a brief moment to write about my dear Oma and Opa.

My Oma and Opa live in Surabaya, but come to see me regularly. It's always fun when they're here.

My Opa carries me everywhere, and let's me get up to mischief.

My Oma always talks to me and teaches me all sorts of things.

It's so good to have them around. Please come and visit me again soon.
